Engineering & fabrication noise at work assessments
Weld shops and fabrication bays stack up noise fast — angle grinders, plasma, guillotines and press brakes all in one space. We measure what your fabricators are really exposed to and keep it compliant under a fixed-price 4-Year Care Plan.
A quick look at where the noise comes from on this kind of floor, and how a Care Plan assessment measures it.
Typical noise sources in a fabrication shop
Typical published/measured figures for the equipment itself — your own exposure depends on time-at-task, layout and controls. Only a measurement confirms your figure.
Common questions
We only grind for part of the day — does it still count?
Yes. Exposure is a dose over the whole shift, so even an hour of grinding at 100+ dB(A) can put someone over the limit. That's exactly what a measurement works out.
Do you cover hand-arm vibration too?
Our focus is noise, but we'll flag where HAV is an obvious concern so you can act on both. Many fabrication tools trigger both duties.
Can you assess a small two-man shop?
Yes — the Care Plan scales down; small shops are often measured inside an hour.
What does it cost?
From £895 + VAT per year, fixed for four years. The 60-second check gives an instant guide.
